Events and contests

Snickerdoodle Snot! The Duke Dukakis Creative Cursing Contest was a great success. Sixteen fans won free copies of  One Shoe Off just by submitting creative curse words. If you loved the creative curse phrases used by the intrepid reporter in Great News Town, you can join in the fun. Come up with a creative phrase that expresses frustration or elation or exasperation better than the seven words which once were banned from television. (and have since been so overused they've lost all their power) None of the traditional curse words are accepted, and phrases that Editor Josie Braun says are too disgusting will be deleted. But put on your thinking cap and let 'er rip. Just click on the comment key and add your creation for all to see. Author Sue Merrell is deep into the next adventure for the Jordan Daily News staff, and if she chooses to use the phrase you submit, you'll receive mention in the credits and a copy of the next book, Full Moon Friday.   Peacock Piddle! You can't get much more colorful than that!

  1. Hi Sue - was great meeting you the other night at our book club. My suggested phrase is "shitey (pronounced shy-ti) poopy" which is a twist on what my mom use to say - shite instead of shit! Oops, can I say that ;) Thanks, Lesa
